The NY Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-3, in what seemed like a relatively normal game today, but it was far from that. Mariano Rivera appeared in his 1,000 career game with the Yankees, which is an MLB record as no other person in the history of the game has made 1,000 career appearances with the same team. Another MLB record was matched in this game as Toronto starting pitcher, Jo-Jo Reyes went through his 28th consecutive win-less start. Reyes hasn’t won since 2008, and if he makes his next start and loses, he will have a chance to beat Matt Keough’s record set back in 1979.

The Boston Red Sox continue their hot streak as they clobbered the Cleveland Indians 14-2. Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz went a combined 8-16 today with 5 runs, 4 RBI’s and 2 HR’s.

The Houston Astros began a series of walk-off games as J.R. Towles hit an RBI-single with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th against the LA Dodgers.

The Florida Marlins visited the San Francisco in 1 of 2 amazing games tonight. The Giants led 3-2 in the top of the 9th, until the Marlins exploded for 4 runs led by a Mike Stanton 2-run double. Going into the bottom of the 9th the Giants trailed 6-2, but managed an amazing comeback as Aubrey Huff hit a 2-run single to tie the game at 6. We’ll update the game as it goes final.

In what is most likely to be the game of the year, the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds went 19 long innings until Raul Ibanez ended the game on a sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the inning. Not only was this game long and crazy, but Wilson Valdez became the 1st position player since 2000 to be the winning pitcher of a game.
