A good friend of #ItsCaveTalk @TheRealArcara gives us a preview of the US Open. All the action starts tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 10am:

Now that Lebron has his ring, finally US Open week is upon us. Golf’s national championship, culminating with Sunday’s final round always on Father’s Day. This year’s US Open proves to be a tough pick for Vegas and for viewers at home. We have seen 10 different winners in the last 10 majors. This is something most of us have never witnessed growing up in the Tiger Woods era. In 2008, Tiger Woods won the US Open on one leg. This week at Congressional Country Club, Tiger would win the US Open on one leg again. Vegas had Tiger at 12-1 this week, before he announced his withdrawal.

So who’s left? If it was decided by who has the hottest wife, it easily goes to my man, the Aussie, Jason Day at 35-1. I see Jason Day playing well this week but not well enough to hoist the hardware. Last year’s winner, Graeme McDowell just doesn’t have the air of a repeat champion. The World Rankings tell us that Donald, Westwood and Kaymer have the best chances of victory. I see Donald and Westwood making strong charges at the title this week. Long shots this week are Vijay Singh and Fred Couples at 100-1. Vijay makes the cut, but don’t be surprised to see Freddy enjoying the indoor bowling alley and other accommodations at Congressional come the weekend.
Without Tiger Woods around this US Open is going to be awful to watch. That is unless two players can make golf exciting again. Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are the two most exciting players in the field this week. Mickelson’s game just isn’t cut out for the US Open.
With 5 runner-ups, (let’s not forget the disastrous finish at Winged Foot), a 6th runner-up or a win would make for a great Father’s Day finish, but I just don’t think his game is ready for Congressional. That’s why ItsCaveTalk is picking the young gun, Rory McIlroy this week. There could be no greater story than this 22 year old kid bouncing back from a Sunday collapse at the Master’s to a victory on US Open Sunday as the nation watches with their sons, fathers and grandfathers. At 15-1, Rory McIlroy takes it. And by the way, McIlroy’s girl is also hot as fuck.
Vegas Odds:
Luke Donald 10-1
Lee Westwood = 10-1
Tiger Woods = 12-1 (WD)
Phil Mickelson = 12-1
Rory McIlroy = 15-1
